Valencia Harris is from New Haven, Connecticut. Her passion for storytelling began at age 5 by watching The Oprah Winfrey Show. Majoring in Multiplatform Production with a concentration in On-Air Performance.

 

She enjoys reporting on alternative health, lifestyle and entertainment news. During her matriculation, she served as Morgan State University Association of Black Journalists' President, BearTV student news reporter, writing and stacking stories for the Morgan News Now newscast​.

 

Valencia hosted the Q&A segment of Baltimore's first interactive metaverse conversation to help end intercultural emotional trauma by offering tangible and tactical strategies that heal damaged expressions of love in the black community, courtesy of BrickRose Exchange Founder, Pulitzer Prize winner Bianca J. Jackson.

She researched, wrote and reported field news in Miami, Florida at the largest National Association of Black Journalists convention in 2019 and did live-stream coverage of the late Congressman Elijah Cummings' celebration of life service in Baltimore, Maryland. Valencia was featured in Voyage Baltimore's December 2022 issue of Rising Stars.

 

Valencia has conducted a host of celebrity interviews. Some of these interviews include: CNN Correspondent Victor Blackwell, Oprah's SuperSoul 100's Shaka Senghor, American singer Lalah Hathaway and more.

Valencia works as a freelance journalist, radio host, producer and music programmer with NPR affiliated public radio station, WEAA 88.9 FM, on Thee Afternoon Vibe in Baltimore, Maryland. She creates weekly original content for segments such as her Urban Outlook Report, Music Over Politics, and Hot Take. Her show airs weekdays 4pm to 6pm garnering nearly 30,000 listeners per week.
